Juniors’ News – Blake Fell – Saturday 21 January
JuniorsThe AAC Juniors first club champs event was held on 21 January on a beautiful sunny winter’s day. Over 30 juniors (and accompanying supporters) journeyed to Blake Fell near Ennerdale Bridge. The races started / finished from the Ennerdale showground onto the surrounding fells, and there were stunning views of snow capped fells from the turnaround points.
Ambleside podium success was in all junior categories (see below) but most notable was Joe Green who won the under 13’s with over a minute margin (!)
The race was well organised by CFR and the marshals really friendly. All juniors received sweets and water on finishing, with podium finishers receiving £3 prize money each! Well done all!
The nearby Gather cafe was great for post race bacon rolls, and really kind to the children.
A great venue for Club Champs, and with such success, hopefully one to be repeated…
