Wansfell Race – info for club helpers

May I extend a huge and heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who has kindly offered to help on the 27th so that this race can happen and make lots of runners happy; you’re all amazing and our club would not be able to host the iconic races that it does without you. It’s not an easy time of year to put on a race and I really appreciate your generosity. It’s particularly fantastic to have some of our newer members helping out. Our club training sessions have such a cool and lively vibe at the moment!
I could may be still use one additional pair of hands to act as a traffic marshal just before the finish to direct runners into the finish and just to alert any cars to the presence of runners hurtling down from the cattle grid with their race heads on!
Is anybody able to put out some signs for me: Start, caution runners on Stock Ghyll Lane and Finish? Message me if you can help please.
Just a reminder that we are operating out of the Rothay Room at Ambleside Parish Centre and we’ll be using the “back door” (opposite the school car park). I will be there from 9.00 to help Martin S set up registration. Registration opens at 10.00 so if you’re helping on registration or kit check, 9.40 would be a good time to be there. All other marshals and helpers, please just come and find me at registration
We need to consider one another indoors and wear face coverings please. I’ve attached an overview of who’s doing what and some timings which I hope are useful. Unfortunately, we can’t do official refreshments for all the runners but we can make drinks in the kitchen for cold helpers – there is a microwave in there if you feel organised enough to bring some soup to heat up! I’ll bring stuff for hot brews: tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
