Spring in Lakeland LDWA event

Details from club member Richard Tait:

This event is held under LDWA rules and whilst that implies long distance walking rather than running, the┬átrend nowadays is that we’re getting about two thirds runners on these events. Phil Pearson of Northern Fells won this year in 3.30ish. Good training runs.

There’s a few Ambleside runners turn out for the very similar “That’s Lyth” event which goes from Kendal in January.

Because Spring in Lakeland didn’t happen in 2017 and has had a patchy record, so our numbers were a bit down for 2018, but I’m expecting it to fill up ok to the 250 limit in 2019.

It would be great to see some more Ambleside members there and they’d be most welcome, it couldn’t be handier either starting from the Parish Centre.

My partner Karen Goodyear and myself are organising it, Karen has just joined AAC and she was marshalling with me at the Relays.
