There were 209 runners in this years race, starting from Rydal Hall in sunny but blustery conditions.

Winning the race for a 5th time was Robb Jebb of Bingley Harriers in 1 hour 20 minutes 49 seconds, followed less than half a minute later by Mark Addison of Helm Hill. Third was Kim Collison of Borrowdale. Amblesides Gary Greenhow was fourth.

In the ladies race, Sharon Taylor of Helm Hill lead the field in 1 hour 39 minutes 53 seconds to make it a family double win. Second was Kim Spence of Valley Striders, followed closely for third by Kate Archer of Ilkley Harriers. Tracey Greenway of Derby AC was fourth and first over 50.

A massive thank you to all the marshalls helpers and friends who turn up and make this race possible. Special thanks to the people, who have no connection to Ambleside AC who volunteered in the last couple of weeks to help out. We couldn’t have done it without you!

I would also like to thank the staff at Rydal Hall for all their help, Pete Bland for sponsorship, St John Ambulance for attending and farmer Chris Hodgson for the use of the parking field. Special thanks to Dave, construction manager at Ellergreen Hydro for all his help with access to the car park.

Next year will be the 50th Fairfield Race and the provisional date will be Saturday 14th May 2016.
