FRA ENGLISH JUNIOR UPHILL CHAMPIONSHIP

ARNISON DASH ~ ULLSWATER COUNTRY FAIR
SUNDAY, 29 JUNE 2008

Ullswater Country Fair is delighted to be hosting this year's FRA English Junior Uphill Championship races - as well as our annual senior fell race (2 miles/1000 ft of climbing).  We hope that you will join us on Sunday, 29 June 2008.

There are three junior championship races.  These are challenging, uphill only courses over grassy and at times rocky terrain.  Starting from King George V Playing Fields in Patterdale (GR391 161), the juniors will follow various routes up Arnison Crag - one of Wainwright's favourites.  The views of Ullswater are fantastic .... if you've got time to stop and stare!

The details are as follows:

1.00 pm    Under 16/Under 18s              0.85 miles/315 m climb

1.30 pm    Under 12/Unders 14s             0.75 miles/240 m climb

1.45 pm     Under 8/Under 10s               0.4 miles/55 m climb (min age is 6 years)

2.00 pm     Senior race (up and down)    2 miles/1000 ft climb

Registration will be from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm for the junior races and from 11.00 am to 1.30 pm for the senior race.  The race fee is included in the entry fee to Ullswater Country Fair. 

There are lots of prizes, spot prizes and the odd medal.  Ullswater Country Fair also offers dog shows, demonstrations, craft tent, beer tent, gun dog demonstration and lots more.
