A New Men’s Team Captain

For those that weren’t aware I have taken over as Men’s Team Captain for 2009.  Outgoing Captain, Jon Deegan, asked me if I would like the position and I felt honoured to accept!

I’d like to thank Jon for his efforts in getting out teams to various races and events during his time as Captain. In 2008 Ambleside Men’s team came 6th in the British Championship, 4th in the English Championship and 3rd in the Lakeland Classics Trophy.

As we head into the New Year I think I am about to realise the challenge the position of captaincy holds... however, I am confident we have the strength and depth in runners at our club to get the results we deserve.

I’m hoping to get in touch with a number of club members to encourage them to enter and run in the Championship races, particularly the English. So have an excuse lined up or be ready to run for the mighty, mighty Ambleside AC!
