A record field of 136 runners stormed out of Millans Park on a glorious Spring evening. Last years winner Nick Sharp, running in road shoes was keen to take advantage of the perfect underfoot conditions. He opened up a lead of 16 seconds on the youngster Tom Addison at the summit. These two were closely followed by Danny Parkinson making a rare appearance on the fell, and Ben Abdelnoor who finished third last year.

Nick Sharp extended his lead on the descent to finish in a new record time of 27.00. This time was 19 seconds quicker than the previous record set by John Hooson in 1995. Tom Addison finished second with an impressive 27.31 clocking, followed by Ben Abdelnoor who overehauled Danny Parkinson on the descent to finish third.

The Vet 40 race was decided in an exciting sprint for the line which saw Chris Knowles getting the better of Chris Upson to win by two seconds. The vet 50 race was won convincingly by Peter Crompton of CFR in 30.59. Dave Tait and Donald James Rigg took the V60 and V70 titles respectively.

The Ladies race was won by Veronique Oldham in a speedy 32.51 which saw her finish 36th overall. Kate Beatty edged out previous record holder Lynn Thompson by 6 seconds to take second. Emma Stuart, talented youngster and daughter of the legendary fell runner Kenny Stuart placed fourth.
