Welcome to the 2006 race, and to the continuing sponsorship of Pete Bland Sports.

This is the 39th annual race for men and the 28th for ladies.

Course: 9 miles and 3000 feet of climbing

As last year the course will be along the skyline. The start  (to the open fell) and finish (last 100 metres) will be flagged. Checkpoints will be manned and must be visited on Nab Scar, Great Rigg Man, Fairfield, Dove Crag and GR 374056. On the descent from Dove Crag you may use either side of the wall. You must cross to the East side during the descent of High Pike.

Parking: Mr Hodgson has kindly agreed to allow us to use his field. A fee of £1 per car is payable.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE PRIVATE ROAD ADJACENT TO THE CHURCH AND RYDAL MOUNT.

Entries:   £3.50  ON THE DAY ONLY.   Results 30p – complete an envelope at registration.

Start:  Rydal Hall (GR 366064)  at 1pm

Safety:  You are reminded that a condition of entry is that you agree to carry or wear for the duration of the race windproof anorak/cagoule with  hood and over trousers, map, compass and whistle. Spot checks will be made at Start/Finish. You will be disqualified if you do not have the correct equipment.

Tea/coffee and piece of cake will be available at the rear of Rydal Hall on production of your race number.

Other refreshments (hot and cold) are available from the tea shop at Rydal Hall, along side the river.

Prizes:  Men 1 - 10, M40 1 - 3, M50 1-3, M60 1. Ladies 1 - 3, L40 - 1, L50 - 1, L60 - 1.
