Another
year, another Club Championship! The 2009 Championship
was decided on a nail-biting final race, and with more
folk competing in 2009 than in any year previous the
2010 Competition looks to have achieved the kudos status
of the British & English Championships.
The format
remains the same with points scored for your best 5
races. The choice of races hopefully gives everyone the
opportunity to partake and shine at their forte distance
and terrain.
A tough
Lakeland Classic sees the Borrowdale race in early
August. Along with Buttermere Sailbeck and Black Combe,
these three races make up the toughies of the 2010
Championship.
The
ever-present Lougrigg Orienteering event will take place
around April/May, awaiting confirmation from Dan Dux.
For short
and sharp races one won’t find better than Langdale
Gala, it’s all over in a little over 11 minutes… if
you’re Gavin Bland. But there’s good tea and cakes in
the tent at Chapel Stile for this race.
The curtain
closer, Dunnerdale, will be a favourite to many, whilst
a ‘new’ race over Loughrigg and Silver Howe will be
familiar to those who’ve run Jon Broxap’s informal
Loughrigg-Silver Howe event pre-season.
Hope to see
you all, and at every race!
