FELL RACING IS DANGEROUS!

The Three Shires Race is a serious undertaking. The race organisers will not be responsible for you during this event! You should not enter these fells unless you have the appropriate navigation  and mountaincraft skills and equipment. If you aren’t sure what that means then please don’t enter – you may be putting yourself at risk.

The race is run under FRA Rules and we will check that the following minimum kit is carried:-  MAP, COMPASS, WHISTLE, FULL WET WEATHER COVER, HAT AND GLOVES. Emergency rations are advised.

ANNIVERSARY

2008 will be the 25th anniversary of the first running of the Shires in 1983 when Billy Bland was the first of four Keswick runners in the first five! We will look forward to seeing as many 'old' runners as possible in 2008. After 20 odd years of organising I'm looking forward to having a trot round for the first time and getting a bit of banter back! There may be one or two more little surprises.
